Mastering

One of the most important and least understood links in the recording process, mastering involves assembling final mixes into the proper order, adjusting volume levels of each segment and using a variety of technical processes (EQ, compression, limiting, etc.) to treat the separate tracks. When done properly, mastering maximizes the sonic quality of the overall CD.
