Although a native New Yorker, Jason got his real start in South
Florida where he grew up. Jason learned his craft recording
his own and other local bands. In 1995 he returned to New York
and worked his way up through the ranks at several NYC studios,
landing at Dubway in 1999. Now a seasoned professional, Jason
has some of the biggest names in the industry on his list of
credits.
Specializing in Live recordings, he has been chief engineer
for over 200 recordings for MTV Networks. Recording & mixing
(stereo & 5.1 Surround Sound) television concert specials for
Lenny Kravitz, Erykah Badu, Wyclef Jean, The Artic Monkeys,
Beck, The White Stripes, & Alanis Morrisette, (to name a few),
for such shows as Unplugged, VH1 Soul's SoulStage,
Discover & Download, and Live@VH1.com. He also
is the recording/mixing engineer for the iTunes Live from
Soho series, featuring exclusive releases from many artists,
amongst them Gnarls Barkley, Counting Crows, Dave Gahan, Taylor
Swift, and Kings of Leon.
In the studio he has worked with Angelo Badalamenti, Deborah
Harry, Moby, Chris Thile, Bebel Gilberto, Scott Hardkiss & many
many more. He also has engineered on two Grammy nominated releases,
James Cotton's Baby, Don't You Tear My Clothes, and Tony
Trischka's Double Banjo Spectacular.
Keith
Rigling, Studio Engineer
Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Keith found his way to New York
City in 2003 and started out at Dubway as an intern. He was
quickly promoted to Production Assistant for The Backyardigans,
a children's television show in production at Dubway with Nick
Jr., and has since been promoted to Engineer where he records,
edits, and mixes the majority of the show's production audio.
In addition, Keith engineers a variety of projects that come
through Dubway, including bands, film and TV scoring, and other
work.
As a freelancer, he is a composer and a sound designer with
clients that include Audi, Volkswagen, and Nokia.
Keith graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications
at Syracuse University, with a Major in Television/Radio/Film
and a dual-minor in Music Industry and Psychology.
Chris
Abell, Studio Engineer
Raised in Virginia Beach, Chris has been a hobby musician since
he was 8 years old. After graduating high school, Chris attended
culinary school and became a French classical baking and pastry
chef.
Though he received local praise for his culinary talents, he
soon realized baking should be his hobby and music should be
his career. After moving to Florida and attending recording
school at Full Sail, he promptly came to New York to find his
place in the industry. In New York, he joined the Dubway staff
as an intern and took a job at a local radio station where helped
to create the South Asian Network for Music, the first domestic
satellite radio station specializing Bangladeshi, Pakistani
and Hindi music.
Chris is now a studio engineer at Dubway and is quickly building
an impressive resume of clients he has worked with. And, he
can still make a mean croissant!
Eric
Spring, Studio Engineer
Eric grew up in Charlotte, NC and attended school in Raleigh.
His parents are both classically trained violinists, which is
what contributed to his early appreciation for the arts and
his own interest in learning the guitar.
Opting out of a path in law school, Eric instead chose to become
a recording engineer and pursue a life in New York centered
around working with artists and musicians. A Full Sail graduate,
Eric has engineered on numerous projects at Dubway including
Live@VH1 and does live sound in the New York City club
scene.
Eric has a wide variety of musical interests which continues
to expand to this day, and when he has spare time he plays a
mean classical guitar.
Mike
Judeh, Studio Engineer
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Mike came to Dubway in August of 2006
to start an internship. He quickly learned the ropes and soon
found himself working with some of our biggest clients including
running monitors for Nas, Cold War Kids, The Bravery, Dashboard
Confessional, and Fall Out Boy for Live@VH1, and Kings of Leon,
Tokyo Police Club, The Good The Bad and The Queen for iTunes.
Mike is a graduate of Five Towns College, Dix Hills New York
and holds a bachelors degree in jazz/commercial music (guitar)
and audio recording technology. Mike is also a exceptional guitar
player and has been in bands since the age of 14. He currently
plays guitar in the very popular local heavy metal act Crave
The Air.
Stephen
Schappler, Studio Engineer
Stephen Schappler grew up in Indiana and Texas and went to the
Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
He is a classically trained clarinetist, and has been playing
clarinet and saxophone since childhood. He graduated with a
Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts, and cut his teeth recording
famous classical figures including violinist Joshua Bell, conductor
Leonard Slatkin, and the Beaux Arts trio.
After graduation he moved to NYC and interned at Electric Lady
Land Studios, followed by an internship at Dubway. Stephen has
a love for all kinds of music, and is also interested in new
media and video game audio. He also edits audio books for Random
House on the side. Some notabe recents include: Audition
(Barbara Walters) and Change We Can Believe In (Barack
Obama).
Ken
Meyer, Studio Engineer & Sound Designer
Ken Meyer has extensive experience in a wide variety of audio
situations, including television post-production, games, film,
and music. Starting as an assistant engineer at a premier
downtown jingle house, he moved on to designing sounds for
a leading educational videodisk company, developing overall
sound design for one of the first interactive television tests
in the nation, then into post-production, working in-house
at one of NYC's largest advertising agencies. All the while,
he's kept up with various freelance music and film projects.
In addition to audio engineering, Ken is also an active recording
and live musician, author of two Mel Bay-published books,
The Solid Time Tool Kit and Approaching
Ambidexterity, as well as co-founder of Zuzula.com,
one of the very first music download sites specifically for
independent musicians.
Jeff
Formosa, Sound Designer/Mixer
Jeff Formosa brings a wealth of TV/Film sound design & mixing
experience to Dubway Studios. Jeff made a name for himself in
the sound design industry through his work on the hit TV series,
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1996), Yugioh! (2003),
and most recently, Winx Club (2004), which led to his
success in the films Last Party 2000 (2001), and Anne
B. Real (2003). His skills as sound editing/mixing supervisor
are revealed in Swimming, a film by Robert J. Siegel
(2000), Barry Alexander Brown's Winning Girls Through Psychic
Mind Control (2002) and a comedy by Jeff Daniels, Super
Sucker (2002). Jeff has done sound design on over 30 films
and on hundreds of animations.

Our General Assistants are selected and promoted from our
best and brightest interns. They are “apprentice engineers”
training under our seasoned staff and handle a variety of
tasks around the studio including assisting in and engineering
