2005 proved to be Dubway Studios biggest year. The well-known
Manhattan recording studio saw record growth last year and
has fast become one of New York City’s hottest places to track.
LifeTime Television brought in the ever-ubiquitous
Christine Baranski for some ADR work on her starring
roll in the film Recipe For A Perfect Christmas.
The Christmas special aired in December just in time for the
holidays. Dubway owner/engineer Mike Crehore tracked
the session and was assisted by Keith Rigling. Live@VH1.com
continued its heavy production schedule into the new year.
This time on the set were Fiona Apple, Kelly Clarkson,
and Franz Ferdinand, among others. Dubway Studios’
chief engineer Jason Marcucci tracked and Eric Spring
assisted.
Working on his follow up to Edible Darling,
Ben Arthur has been back at Dubway tracking a batch
of new songs. Studio owners/engineers Al Houghton and
Mike Crehore have been sharing the engineering duties.
Ben ended his deal with Bardic/Sony and is currently
being looked at by several labels. Chip Taylor has
been getting ready to release his new album and has been working
with Dubway engineer Mike Presta for the last several
months. The well-known country-folk artist best known for
writing the hit song “Wild Thing” continues
to record and tour the world. His new album is expected out
later this year. Singer-songwriter Terry Winchell has
been in Dubway’s Yellow Room mixing and putting the final
touches on her new release with Dubway owner/engineer Al
Houghton. The folk-flavored album is being produced by
Mark McCarron.
