Tour

Dubway's core consists of the Yellow Room, a large, acoustically friendly multitrack recording studio, and the Green Room, a digital post production suite, all designed by master studio architect John Storyk. Each room has lock-to-video capabilities.

High ceilings, sleek architectural design, and contemporary original art on display give an airy, open feel to the facilities. The overall effect is that of a bright and engaging place to work. Located in the heart of Chelsea, New York's multimedia center, Dubway is easily accessible by all trains.

A recently completed renovation has endowed Dubway with a sweeping new lounge area, replete with original artwork, and a spacious gallery ambience. Architect Gordon Pape of Toronto is responsible for the design.

The renovation is the first phase of a studio redesign reflecting Dubway's continued expansion into audio for visual media, with the creation of new studio suites dedicated to audio post to follow.

Yellow Room

Dubway's main room, the Yellow Room, is one of NY's most attractive & functional recording environments. Designed by legendary studio architect John Storyk, the Yellow Room boasts a large, highly ambient recording area with natural light & hardwood floors, a beautiful Steinway grand piano, & full MIDI production capabilities. Built to accommodate a variety of musical setups, Dubway's Yellow Room is perfect for any type of music and any size ensemble, from a solo guitarist to a full swing band.

A Panoramic view of the live space is afforded from the control room.

The Yellow Room also boasts a spacious isolation booth with a glass door so you can see the action in the main room. And there's a two-way video monitoring system connected to an even larger sound-proofed room - the CHBO/Drum Suite.

Green Room

A state of the art digital mixing/editing suite with video lockup, designed to accommodate film and advertising clients, the Green Room features a voice-over booth, SFX and music library, and software for internet and new media.

Designed by studio architect John Storyk, Dubway's Green Room offers myriad possibilities for audio-for-video, music production, voiceover, and new media audio in a very comfortable, accessible, and acoustically enhanced room.

A second ProTools system and Hot Swap drives allow easy interfacing with the Yellow Room, and audio and video tie lines connecting the Green, Yellow, and CHBO Drum Rooms give Dubway even more tracking & mixing flexibility.

CHBO Drum Room

Named after Chris Bowman, an avid jazz drummer and the builder responsible for Dubway's crisp clean look, the CHBO Drum Room is an acoustically friendly isolation room that can be easily tied into either a Yellow or Green Room session, through audio lines and two-way video cam.
