AL
HOUGHTON, owner and producer. Since launching
Dubway in the mid-80's, Al has built a small recording studio
into a full-fledged production facility. He opened the original
Dubway in the Music Building at 584 Eighth Avenue. Word
quickly spread about the lone engineer in a tiny studio
who could conjure up amazing sounds using only one blown
speaker and a beat-up four-track. Since those early days,
Al has worked on more than a thousand projects, built the
dazzling new Dubway studios, and continues to be an active
musician on New York's club scene.
MIKE
CREHORE, co-owner and producer. A New Yorker
for the past twenty years, Mike honed his studio skills
in the trenches with many of NY's session elite. He and
Chris Bowman ran their first studio, Michro Sound out of
a room at 584 Eighth Avenue. Mike has recorded and played
with many household names over the years as they worked
their way up the ranks. All who have worked with him have
benefited from his many musical talents. Mike is our resident
expert on computer technology and ProTools and how they
interface with the home recording studio. He has been a
mastering engineer at the famed Atlantic Studios. Al and
Mike trace their friendship to a jam session that took place
about 18 years ago in the music building on 8th Avenue.

the famous Del-Fi Records label based in Hollywood, CA with
founder Bob Keane of Richie Valens fame. Steven has released
three solo albums since then, Mercy (Del-Fi), Bleed (Mott
Street), and his latest The Howl Sessions (Mott Street)
which has received national radio play and press. Throughout
his career, Steven has worked off-and-on at record labels
including Star Song/EMI and DreamWorks Records SKG. Steven
calls New York City his home now and continues to write
and record. He has successfully managed Dubway Studios since

basis, but to learn everything there is about working in
a successful recording studio with some big-name clientele.
